Case Study.
Year 1
Got the WHS Skill Set done.
Marcus had spent his early twenties in hospitality — closing the bar, sleeping through mornings, watching mates in trades move on with proper careers. The WHS Skill Set gave him a way in without going back to a full apprenticeship. Five units, five months, done on his laptop between shifts.
Year 2
Landed his first WHS site role.
With the units credited, Marcus landed a Site Safety Assistant role on a Sydney commercial build. Toolbox talks, inductions, incident reports, running the pre-start every morning. Starting package around $75K and a clear step off the shop floor for good.
Year 3
Finished the full Cert IV and went into Safety Advisor.
By year three Marcus had used the five credits to finish the full Cert IV in WHS and stepped up to Safety Advisor for a Tier 2 builder. Five active projects, $118K package, reporting into the National Safety Manager.
